075 KEITH ALBERSTADT (podcast)

Keith Alberstadt

Ever wondered … “should I move to a bigger city for comedy?” Ever struggled with, “Should I go full time?” Keith Alberstadt joins us this week to discuss how he made the jump from an office job to a 24/7 comedy career.

Keith makes his comedy relatable and approachable while delivering it in a confident (and sometimes sarcastic) way. He’s performed for on numerous late might shows including Late Show With David Letterman, Late Night with Seth Meyers, Fox’s Red eye … basically any show on late at night.

Rik Roberts

He also has been a contributing writer for Saturday Night Live’s Weekend update and Jimmy Fallon.

We talk specifically about:

  • Starting and stopping his pursuit of comedy
  • Developing an act on the road
  • Getting things squared away before jumping
  • Noticing improvement
  • Setting goals
  • Why Nashville is a great place to start comedy
  • The choice of NYC over LA
  • His persistence in pursuing the David Letterman Show
  • What the process was like leading up to the appearance
  • The pressure of a second Letterman appearance
  • His preference for writing
  • Balancing road vs NYC

and much, much more.

This is another must listen for new and aspiring comedians. Especially if you are thinking about going into comedy full-time.
